Customer Avatar
My prototypical customer would be a young couple in their 30s.
They both traveled extensively in their 20s. One of them was in the Peace Corps
and the other studied abroad with several programs including Semester at Sea
and the Fulbright Scholarship. One is now working as an analyst for a branch of
the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the other is completing a residency at
a hospital nearby. They live in Tallahassee, Florida. They do not have children,
but both have big families and many little cousins to take care of. They are
middle-class and live in a small townhouse. They both are interested in
politics, international relations, music, and entertainment. Their typical weekend
night is spent out on the city or watching a movie. They wish they could travel
more since they are unable to due to their jobs and financial situation.
What I have in common with this avatar is that I studied abroad with Semester at Sea, want to become a doctor, have the same interests as them, and am middle-class. I don’t think that it is a coincidence that I have many things in common with the avatar because I noticed this particular need due to my own personal experiences and qualities. I see myself having this need which makes me pursue it more; naturally, the customer avatar would be mirrored in this way.

Hey Thuy-Linh,
ReplyDeleteIn general, great job on your customer avatar! When it comes to assignments like this, it's not surprising that our customer avatars have many of the same or similar characteristics/interests as us, since we are creating them from our own experiences. Also, I really liked the detail you included for this avatar; I believe it really captures what your prototypical customer would be like. Keep up the good work!
Definitely a great target market for this experience. People in their twenties may not appreciate an experience like this so I agree with you're chosen route. The more open-minded the better too. You have to cross lines and create the unexpected when creating experiences like these so definitely keep at it.
